Penguins at your front door

Waking up to the sound of waves and watching penguins just outside my window was truly magical. The dining options were deliciously affordable and the ambiance was wonderfully relaxed.

However, I did face some confusion with the late check-in policy. Arriving late left me feeling a bit uneasy as the hotel felt deserted. It would have been nice to see staff presence during that time.

The tuna dish was amazing, but the late check-in was unsettling.

The outdoor seating area offers a breathtaking view over the water, perfect for breakfast. The location near the penguin colony is unbeatable, providing both cozy access to wildlife and beautiful walks to the beach.

No personal welcome note upon arrival, unlike other guests. The lack of a microwave and closing the lounge at 5 PM means you're stuck with cold food after hours. The shower has accessibility issues with a step, making it difficult to use, especially in the cramped corner bath. Room decor and finishes are showing their age and need maintenance. The absence of a TV in the room is a surprise for the price.

The shower in our room struggled to drain, causing discomfort during use as we showered with water up to our ankles.

Great penguin access

The proximity to the penguins is a highlight, with views right from the window. The staff provided exceptional attention, even arranging a breakfast pack for my early departure. However, the check-in process felt a bit unsettling due to the lack of staff presence after hours, and the absence of a microwave in the room made late-night snacks inconvenient. Additionally, some amenities showed signs of age, which could detract from the overall experience.

It was just a perfect match for a couple of nights in Simon's Town with good value. Waking up to a clean room and friendly staff made my stay even better. Bring cash for the café, as card only can be an issue.

staying at boulders beach hotel, cafe and curio shop was such a delight! the location is perfect, super close to the penguin conservation areas. i loved the vibrant energy of the hotel, and the eggs benedict at breakfast were absolutely amazing. the spacious common areas really added to the relaxing vibe, making it a great spot for family getaways.

Staying at Boulders Beach Hotel, Cafe And Curio Shop was such a delight! The location is unbeatable, with direct access to the penguin conservation areas right from the property. I especially loved the spacious common areas, which added to the relaxing vibe, and the breakfast options were deliciously affordable, making the stay even better.
